Cisco Catalyst Center / Assurance & troubleshooting
Catalyst Assurance. From a red indicator to an informed next step.
A dashboard highlights anomalies. Operations needs a defensible interpretation. We align Catalyst Assurance with your troubleshooting questions and connect telemetry, client context and practical operational procedures.
Scope of service
What you receive.
A good fit when incidents bounce between wireless, DHCP, DNS and authentication teams, or existing health views explain too little. We start with typical tickets and identify missing observations. One selected site with known equipment and applications provides a useful starting point. The outcome is a reproducible diagnostic path rather than another stream of unfiltered alerts.
A trustworthy observation baseline
Inventory, site assignment and required telemetry are checked. Data age, reachability and coverage gaps remain visible. Missing observations must not be mistaken for a healthy network.
Diagnosis from the user's perspective
For agreed scenarios, we connect client, device and site to relevant events. Steps for investigating access, address assignment and transport are documented with operational owners.
Alerts with ownership
Relevant issues and events receive a recipient, priority and next action. Thresholds and notifications are assessed in a pilot for their actual diagnostic value.
A runbook tested together
Your team works through selected cases using the platform. Observation, hypothesis and confirmed cause remain distinct, with necessary evidence from adjacent systems explicitly identified.
The delivery path
Three controlled steps.
- 01
Choose diagnostic questions
Review common incidents, participating teams and required evidence. Check device and release support for the necessary views.
- 02
Verify collection in a pilot
Reconcile sites, devices and telemetry. Compare the displayed results with a known baseline and a controlled test case.
- 03
Integrate operational procedures
Practise notifications and runbooks, agree privacy and retention settings, and hand over documented telemetry gaps.
What we agree before starting
A health score proves neither complete availability nor a conclusive root cause. Visibility depends on data sources and supported capabilities. Client data, external analytics and retention must fit your policies. Automatic remediation and round-the-clock staffed response are not implicitly included.
Good to know
Your questions. Clear answers.
Does this require Cisco ISE?
Not every diagnostic use case requires ISE. Integration can add identity context. We check whether it is needed and supported for your actual requirements.
Will Assurance replace all existing monitoring?
We do not assume that. We define which devices and applications are covered and which observations must continue to come from other tools.
Does the platform automatically repair incidents?
A recommendation or correlation is not an approved remedy. Automated interventions require their own scope, testing and permissions. The initial engagement can stay entirely within visibility and diagnosis.
Let’s discuss your requirements
A few details are enough to begin.
You do not need a finished design. We establish the need, boundaries and a dependable next step.
Discuss Assurance adoptionHelpful for the first conversation
- Typical anonymised tickets with timings and symptoms
- Device, controller and Catalyst Center versions
- Current telemetry and adjacent diagnostic tools
- Recipients, service hours and privacy requirements
